A crowd gathered at the St William Grant Park downtown Kingston this past friday as Digicell launched its It's Loaded Xmas promotion." There was a lot of artists , and Popcaan and Shawn Storm shared the stage with artists such as Tifa, Jermain Edwards, Camaley, Queen Ifrica and I-Octane keeping the crowd singing along to their tunes. The Gaza Camp artists , Popcaan & Shawn Storm, had the crowd going crazy for their chunes and they sang along Gaza hits such as Dream,My life, Gangster City, Up Inna di Club and Vybz Party. I-Octane, performed at night singing My Life, Mine Who You A Diss, and his popular Puff It which was pulled up over four times at the crowd's request.
MissGaza recently posted this song as audio file as a favorite. If u didn 't check it yet check out the video . Very positive song from Vybz that well deserves #1 in Top ten Reggae Charts straight from Jamaica and compiled from various local radio networks. Another Gaza Sweet Victory ! Born Shawn Campbell, he graduated in 1997 andstarted
deejaing in the year 2001when dancehall star and
Empire Chief,Vybz Kartel inspired him to get involved
in the music industry.
His name is original as his style. If you'r not yet familiar you'll soon be since his song "My Life" hit#3 in several reggae charts in Usa for some weeks now and may get him some recognitionshowing how popular the longtime Portmore Empire has become in the months of 2010.The single is featured on the "Gangster City Riddim" produced by Notnice. "My Life" is a dancehall hit but also delivers a strong message to anyone that has/had to struggle to achieve anything that is worthwhile in their life. As in all his other songs Shawn Storm writes in a honest, clear,direct,well written way that is guarantee to get straight to you. "My Life" is obviously an autobiographich joint and Shawn says his mom inspired him to write it. There's in fact a reference to his mother who is legally blind because of the glaucoma which has afflicted both her eyes. As every son Shawn link to his mom is very strong and grew even stronger.Thel last of three children, he recently lost his father and he's taking care of his mother since both of his siblings are not living in Jamaica. He scored big last here with "Affi Fight"on Birthday Riddim with producer Ainsley Morris aka Notnice.
