new  from di Gaza Empire! "Holding Out The Pressure" is  another  dope
chune, on Gangster City Riddim, and there's also some intense acappella
video straight di Gaza studio where he sings his anthem, Warm Dem,and
also givesprops to di other Gaza members. MissGaza favorite Tommy Lee

New Vybz Kartel's car is the talk of the town in Kingston this week .
A 2010 S-Class Mercedes-Benz estimated to value over a million. (J$)
Addi loves his new ride and says: "It do everything except fly, the 
body can raise, it just have the whole driving experience, is like yuh
a drive pon air."
Kartel recently returned from a trip to Suriname where he said he 
performed to a crowd of over 20,000 fans. "Suriname was crazy, 
Kartel owns South America, dem love mi like dem love football," he said.
He also recently completed the video for the Duss medley and has a 
number of new singles just released and to be released soon.

*Origins of Portmore Empire*

Some background about  di Portmore Empire.
Former member of the Bounty Killer-led Alliance, Vybz Kartel aka 
Addi di Teacha, formed his own alliance of artists called the 
‘Portmore Empire’, to develop the talents of a group of artists in order
to propel them to successful careers in the music business, after
the separation with Bounty Killer .
“Portmore Empire is about a group of artists coming together for the
betterment of music, a musical unit covering artists, selectors, cassette 
man, everybody. It’s origin is in Portmore, but it nuh limited,” from
Kartel own words in spring 2007 when the project was shaped  and
included artists like Avalanche, Nuclear, Deva Bratt, Shawn Storm, 
Blak Ryno, Omeil from Spanish Town, known as the “first lady of the
Portmore Empire,” and Likkle Danger, from Spanish Town. Many new artists joined the Gaza Family and some  left di

Camp for good like Lysa Hyper, Gaza Kim, Blak Ryno but the rise

of the Empire is undeniable and everyday since a new hot song

on some killah riddim is out or some new never heard before

All the Gaza Camp Artists are very gifted and have a lot of 
songs out there,Popcaan, real name  Andre Sutherland, is 
the one i love most,the one that had me fall in love for Gaza 
and one of the youngest in the camp so far (with Dotta Coppa).
Popcaan  songs are so real, so intense, he can sings and he 
can rap and his style his unique and very personal,you can't 
confuse him and his voice with nobody's else in the Gaza Camp .
When he sings his voice runs like a bassline and  there's nothing
like him out there .Is one of a kind.A raising star in the Gaza Fam.
Any line he drops is fresh and real and is not a surprise that he's
getting known out there, overall after the quick european mini 
tour with Vybz that left crowds thirsty for more.
Born on July 1990 he met Vybz Kartel in 2007 while doing his
thing called "My Scheme" and got invited to join Vybz in the studio.
Lately is been hectic recording new songs, new videos and being
in tour with Vybez as well as the recent show in Kingston with 
Shawn Storm last friday.
His favorite artists are Vybz Kartel and Sizzla,and his advice to
young artists is to stay real and true to everything they do
in order to be on top of their game, exactly what he's doing !
In 2009 his career took off with hits like Nuh Ordinary Girl,
Never Lose A War,Formula in 2010 with  Gangsta City,Fake Friend, 
New Year,Up Inna Club, Clarks and Clarks Again which is playing 
on heavy rotation in radio stations like Hot 97 introducing the 
young Portmore's artist to a bigger audience.

One of his latest success, Dream, appears to be autobiographical,
telling the story of his journey from "ghetto youth" to Adidjahiem 
Record label's top talents.

no fiction .
Every ghetto youth hopes one day to rise out of the slum,he 's on
his way to fullfilling his "Dream" and he wants his life to be an

*Shawn Storm My Life*

A couple of things you didn't know about Shawn Storm.

Born Shawn Campbell, he graduated in 1997 and started

deejaing in the year 2001 when dancehall star and 

Empire Chief, Vybz Kartel inspired him to get involved

in the music industry.

His name is original as his style.
If you'r not yet familiar you'll soon be since his song "My Life"
hit#3 in several reggae charts in Usa for some weeks now and
may get him some recognition showing how popular  the
longtime Portmore Empire has become in the months
of 2010.The single is featured on the "Gangster City Riddim"
produced by Notnice.
"My Life" is a dancehall hit but also delivers a strong 
message to anyone that has/had to struggle to achieve 
anything that is worthwhile in their life.
As in all his other songs Shawn Storm writes in a honest,
clear,direct,well written way that is guarantee to get 
straight to you.
"My Life" is obviously an autobiographich joint and Shawn says
his mom inspired him to write it. There's in fact a reference
to his mother who is legally blind because of the glaucoma which
has afflicted both her eyes.
As every son Shawn link to his mom is very strong and grew even
stronger.Thel last of three children, he recently lost his father and
he's taking care of his mother since both of his siblings are not
living in Jamaica.
He scored big last here with "Affi Fight" on Birthday Riddim 
with producer Ainsley Morris aka Notnice.
As all the others Portmore Empire young artists he has 
a lot of songs out that I really like and play every time 
during MissGaza sets like "Be wise", "Oh Oh Oh", "This is Love",
"Gaza wine", "He seh she seh" and many others.
No matter his young age he already performed in countries as
Switzerland,France, St. Marteen, Martinique,Guadalupe,
Holland,Grenada, Guyana,Barbados and Antigua.
He also performed at shows like Reggae Sumfest 2007-10
and Sting 2007-9.
MissGaza is very tuned to Shawn Storm cuz he's sounds so good,
he's original, talented and keeps it real all the time.
