New York's radio station WBLS 107.5's Caribbean Fever show was bombarded with phone calls on Sunday Jan. 2nd as listeners called in from as far as Africa to vote for the Caribbean Artist of The Year and favorite song.… And di Artist of The Year title goes to an artist who's known for his chunes but also for products such as Vybz Condom, Street Vybz Rum, Vybz Cake Soap and who's also in charge for keeping the New Kingston hip-strip alive with the popular Street Vybz Thursday party,Vybz Kartel!!! Mavado had to settle for 2nd place while the King of Dancehall Beenie Man was listed as the #3 Artist of The Year.
Meanwhile in the Song of The Year category majority of the votes went to three songs "Clarks" by Vybz Kartel ft Popcaan, "Hold Yuh" by Gyptian and"Drinking Rum & Redbull" by Fambo ft Beenie Man. The Song of The Year title went to the man himself Gyptian for his billboard hit single "Hold Yuh".
