*Bingie General Inspired By Vybz Kartel*
After over a decade of being absent from the music scene Bingie General is trying to make a return in the dancehall music industry. Bingie, brother of Major Mackerel, says that Vybz's recent cover of his hits dated back to 1987 "Come Rush me Now" gave him inspiration to come out of his box.Being a cover the two songs are similar lyrically and Addi Di Teacher added his flavour to the song with his popular "oh" and "ahoe" interjections. The cover has been extremely popular in the dancehall and Mr Bingie is grateful that Vybz decided to cover his song. Since
the cover is out a lot of other artists reached out to Bingie to have some specials recorded wth him.Apart from being an artist, Bingie General also boasted of the numerous albums of other artists, for which he did production work. Among those he mentioned were albums for Yellowman, John Holt, and Singing Melody.
Aware that it may be little odd for the younger generation to see a man of his age doing dancehall music Bingie General says he has his own formula: to use young producers and song writers with the hottest rhytms will be his way to get the ghetto youth attention. Big Ups Bingie General and as usual Big Ups to Kartel making another glorius entry in MissGaza blog!

*Rebel Salute 2011*
Rebel Salute at St Elizabeth's Port Kaiser Sports Club may be a Jamaican roots reggae festival, but there's no Red Stripe in sight. Their strict no alcohol, no drugs and even no meat policy means it's all about the music. Rebel Salute has been going strong for 15 years and past performers have included Burning Spear and Jimmy Cliff.
The positive messages that Rebel Salute has championed for almost two decades is an important step in reconnecting dancehall to positiveness.
Beres Hammond is back and better than ever after a 7 years absence .
Rebel Salute has always prided itself in recognizing and promoting up and coming talent such as Tarrus Riley and Queen Ifrica that have gone, over the years, on to international acclaim yet still keep going back on Rebel's stage , as well as I-Octane, another rising star that has been on that stage for the past 3 years and was joined also by: Tanya Stephens, Ken Boothe, Khago, Chuck Fenda, Fanton Mojah, Junior X, Spanner Banner, Sierra Leone’s Refugee All-stars and many more as part of a more efficient billing this year.Rebel Salute happened in St. Elizabeth's Port Kaiser last Sat 15th of Jan. Official site in unreachable because of the huge amount of hits of these past days but MissGaza will soon provide the highlights.

*Producers: Young Veterans*
Producers Sheldon Pennicott and Sekou Davis, are the two guys behind the name Young Veterans, project started in 2005 when Davis met Pennicott @ Di Street Studio.Since then is been magic : they have been the production masterminds behind some of the songs we hear on the radio daily.
The two have slowly built stream and made a name for themselves with singles from Konshens such as Rasta Imposter, Young Black &Powerful, Wolf inna Sheep Clothes and as well as rhythms such as Substance, Kalashnikov, After Effection & and their latest project Dream Dayz , one-drop rhythm that also got international attention, mainly on the European market with the likes of Bugle, Perfect, Nico D Maverick, Teflon, Hyahslyce, Fyakin, Spanna Banner, and many more.
Latest projects from Young Veterans are singles from Opal, a short compilation called Jah Protect featuring, Konshens, Maverick, Shawn Storm, Perfect and Ninja Ford, as well as an album with Perfect titled The Good Side of Bad.
Another big recognition came from popular artist M.I.A. doing a remake of Opal's "I Said It" for her album.Last year also saw the production of the "Rhaatid" album, which was a compilation of successful singles and popular songs from past rhythms.Their 'Jah Protect' rhythm which was done in the last quarter of the year was by far the most successful, as this was what really put them on the map and opened the public's eye to the group and featured popular artists such as Chris Martin, Perfect, Maverick, Konshens, Garrizon, Shawn Storm, among a host of others
Good Side of Bad is their latest project, Perfect's album, they recently started working on it and is still not complete and they surely will settle for nothing but the best .

*BuJu Banton Live In Mia*
MissGaza was one of the 10.000 human being who filled Bayfront Park Amphi theatre, in Downtown Miami on Sunday to witness one of the dopest show of the year Before The Dawn with Buju Banton & Friends.
Buju was granted permission by a US Federal Court to perform at the concert in a bid to raise funds to cover his legal fees for his upcoming second trial for drug and firearm charges next month and the reggae superstar performed as if his freedom depended on it. He was very elegant, very focused, very kind and he also delivered an incredible two-hour set that left me think how lucky I was to witness it first hand and in a very privileged position. Several guests went on before him keeping the crowd busy and happy, even Rick Ross and Busta Bus Rhymes but it was when Buju took the stage the Amphitheatre broke really down in joy, happiness and big big ovations by a loving and emotional crowd! Buju opened the show with his hit "Destiny" and kept going between his hits from the past and songs of the new album "Before The Dawn". As we all did witness he was escorted on stage by several federal agents who stood vigil around the backstage area and made sure that no unauthorised contact was made with the singer. He has been under house arrest since December when he was granted bail in a Tampa court. The same officers at twelve o' clock started being impatient and imposing that the singer quit the show, which was really over few minutes after .The concert , dubbed "Before the Dawn, Buju Banton and Friends", and Buju really has the coolest artists friends and they were there, on stage with him, to hold him down and support him making the show magic and filled with love .Buju looked beautiful, youngcharged, he jumped without
a pose all over the stage for more than two hrs delivering a perfect show where music, energy and high vibrations were constantly @ their picks & everything was on point and just right! The crowd was magic too, singing every song, chanting, everybody had a flag, so many kids, so many colors, so many lighters and also some tears.

The crowd was magic too, singing every song, chanting, everybody had a flag, so many kids, so many colors, so many lighters and also some tears.
Buju did combinations with Reggae diva Marcia Griffiths, Wayne Wonder and Steve McKnight but it was the entry of Stephen Marley, who had put up his Florida home as collateral for Banton to qualify for bail, and his brother Junior Gong on stage that brought out more claps, screaming and sirens launching than any other artist from the dreaming crowd. Beres Hammond didn't performed but Banton never missed the opportunity to pay homage to a man he described as one of his mentors. The most spiritual moment was when Gramps Morgan & Buju Banton performed their hit rendition of Psalms 23.Veteran singer Freddie Mc Gregor was on stage too and his song "Freedom" had the crowd singing with him. a very special song giving the particular time Buju is facing. Other featured apparances include Wayne Wonder,Everton Blender ,Shaggy and Rayvon, while Sean Paulwas joined on stage by Spragga Benz who reminded the audience that "Rasta Run the World". Nadine Sutherland & Tarrus Riley were in the house too at their best too!
Buju kept thanking his fans for the love and the support for these past months & everybody could tell he really missed being on stage and the contact with his fans.
Was curious to hear that all the media representatives who covered the event were more than pissed when they were informed that they would be prohibited to photograph or film footage of more than the first song of each artiste's performance.

Photographing or filming Banton's performance was also strictly prohibited. The media was warned that failure to abide by the rule would result in them being thrown out of the venue. The film crews and photographers were herded into a footage pit and quickly ushered out by stern faced security staff at the start of each performance . They turned even bitter when members of the audience were seen capturing uninterrupted footage of the event with cellular phones and mini camcorders. Given how the press handled the whole Buju's case, propaganda or not, it's just right to give all the power back to the people, Buju's own people.
Buju last words on stage were for his lawyer , he left the stage escorted by him and his parole officer or something.A Great Nite. Bless Up My Rasta Lions !
