*Gun Shots & Drama @ Follow Di Arrow 2011*

FOLLOW Di Arrow, which throughout its promotion encouraged everyone to 'keep the unity', had that sentiment shattered to pieces when, during Bounty Killer's performance, bottles and stones started to rain on the stage.

The event, which was held at the James Bond Beach in St Mary, came to a grinding halt last night  when Bounty Killer took centre stage and started to make a comment on a story which was carried in a newspaper. He did not get to finish whatever he was about to say as at that point all hell broke loose.
Bottles and stones rained down and sounds of gunshots could be heard. People  scampered under the stage or just about any other place that seemed safe enough to offer protection from the violent and frightening attack. A cross and angry Killer, who had exited the stage just seconds before, made a sudden return shouting, “Mi nah run, after mi nah play dandy shandy”. The artist did not live up to his words though, as just seconds later he was seen along with other members of his Alliance team running for cover from the angry crowd.
No one knows for sure if the gunshots were from policemen in the venue or from other sources. At the front of the stage, two men tried to carry a wounded pregnant woman to safety without much luck as dozens of bottles were flying. Dozens of other patrons were seen all bloody, some screaming in anguish while others just cowered, trembling in despair.
DJ Sunshine was seen cowering on the stage with someone kind enough to place a chair over her for protection.
Ragashanti, who minutes before was urging the crowd to "stay calm", had to beat a hasty retreat as the bottles pelted the stage.

The event was also broadcast online from http://robracksoundstation.com/ they released a statement saying "Robracksoundstation.com apologizes for the premature end of the Follow Di Arrow live broadcast, which resulted from matters beyond our control."

*Reaction to Buju Banton's Verdict*

A number of radio station in Barbados and all over the world are showing solidarity to Buju and playing his music. The whole Reggae and Dancehall communities , Fans and Industry, are  still in shock! Social  network  sites, Facebook & Twitter on top of the list, have been buzzing non - stop on  how
verdict is unfair and sour and how everyone feel for him!
Wayne Wonder, famous artist and also Buju's close friend, wrote on his facebook : " Lets all keep the prayers going for Mark,we all have to stay strong and stand by him!". Was just last week, a day before his trial re-started, that Buju won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album,"Before The Dawn", and many saw that as a sign of good luck for the upcomig trial for an artist that is been already plagued by tour & annullments when he was supporting his previous release " Rasta Got Soul". Buju always knew it's not an easy road, but still...there was a lot of hope and prayers andnow a lot of disappointment is mounting and everybody can't wait for his lawyer to appeal.
OPTIMISTIC SOUL! Free Buju! Jah Army Stand Up!

Just Added! Ragashanti Reaction!

*Buju Banton's Verdict*

Today Buju Banton was found guilty on three charges by a 12 member panel of jurors. They decided he's guilty of conspiracy, possession of a firearm and using wires  to facilitate a drug trafficking offence. He was found Not Guilty of attempted possession with the intent to distribuite cocaine.
Buju  hugged his lawyer,David Markus, when the verdict was read, while a lot of his supporters left the courtroom in tears. His bail is been revoked and he's actually detained awaiting sentence. Here a little statement from the artist:
"Our life and our destiny are sometimes pre-destined and no matter where this journey takes me, remember I fought the good fight, it was a great man that said my head is bloody but still unbowed. I love you all ,thank you for your support". His lawyer, has declared his intention to appeal the guilty verdict that was handed down in  Sam Gibbons Federal Court, Tampa, Florida, today.
Buju fans are sad and proclaming his innocence all over social networks and websites and there is shock concerning the Voice of Jamaica being trapped in the american jail system for a crime that never really happened. Free Buju!

*Buju's Trial To Last A Week*

After winning the Grammy award for Best Reggae album last night Buju spent the night in a Tampa hotel, and  earlier  today, at 1pm , he attended his own trial, that it's going to last all the week.
Banton won the  Award for Best Reggae Album for his project," Before The Dawn". This was his first Grammy award, but he was nominated in previous years for "Rasta Got Soul" in 2009; "Too Bad in 2007"; "Friends For Life", 2004; and "Inna Heights", 1999.
Speaking with the media after the adjournment of the first day of the trial, Banton went straight to the point. He thanked God for giving him a good jury and he added that all he is asking is for them to listen to all the facts.
He also said he felt good about his prospects of securing a not guilty verdict. The afternoon's session was adjourned close to 4 pm after a juror fell ill.
Earlier on this afternoon, while addressing jurors during the opening statement, David Markus, Banton’s attorney, listed 10 reasons why Banton was not guilty.Among these resons Buju did not get a dollar or anything from the deal; never spoke with James Mack nor heard of him before; that he never spoke with Ike and Tyke and never went to the warehouse on December 8, 2009 to see drugs.
Markus  also introduced Banton to the jurors, saying that he was not guilty. He said last night (Grammy night) was an important night for Banton, but this week will be important for the entertainer and his family. He also constantly referred to the police informant that brought Buju's name in the story, as a con artist.

Today jurors have been selected to sit on the panel for Buju retrial,14 jurors including 9 women and 3 of them are African American.the Jury selection lasted two hours. Will keep you posted.

*53rd Grammy Awards Feb 13 2011 Reggae Nominee*

The 53rd Grammy Awards will take place Febraury 13th and won't reflect the taste of reggae records buyers. They rank Damian Marley and Gyptian above any nominee, but this year 5 nominees are all not in the top 10 Charts and that's a bit unsual. At the Grammy they' re not trying to choose the top selling albums but more trying to reflect the values of Recording Academy.
Albums as "Distant Relatives" by Damian Marley and Nas , top selling album of the year, and also Gyptian's album are being dismissed.
Who is in charge of the selection of Grammy Winners? Well the selection begins with US based Recording Academy members and with record companies submitting entries which are then screened again for category and eligibility placement, then they do another ulterior selection for the nominating process that will determine the 5 finalists in each category, and then with the final voting, they get have the Grammy Winners.

The 2010 Nominations for Reggae Grammy Awards are :
-Before The Dawn by Buju Banton
-Isaacs Meets Isaac by Gregory Isaacs & King Isaac
-Revelation by Lee 'Scratch' Perry
-Made In Jamaica by Bob Sinclar and Sly & Robbie
One Pop Reggae by Sly & Robbie And The Family Taxi and Legacy:
An Acoustic Tribute To Peter Tosh by Andrew Tosh

The 53rd Grammy list of nominees is led by the embattled Buju Banton who marks is 5th Grammy nomination and is also facing next monday the new trial with 2 more charges on him, for a total of 4 charges.

Reggae artist and son of Bob Marley, Stephen Marley, holds the record for most Grammy Award wins in the Reggae category. He has won a total of five trophies  three times as a member of the sibling band, The Melody Makers, and twice as a solo act. Shabba Ranks became the first deejay to take home a Grammy. First in 1992 for As Raw As Ever, then he followed up in 1993 with X-tra Naked. Other Jamaican acts to take the Grammy Award for Reggae include, Shaggy, Sean Paul, Damian 'Junior Gong' Marley, Beenie Man, Inner Circle, Bunny Wailer and Burning Spears.

About Single Mothers of America
Single Mothers of America is a crisis 501©3 non profit organization implemented to financially aid households lead by single mothers. The organizations are aware and hear the cry, not the complaints of fathers absent in millions of American households. Awareness of the shortage of limited allocated funds from local government agencies allows an avenue for an organization that cares to provide an optional avenue of financial assistance to single mothers. Due to the enormous and continuous growth of families without fathers an optional crisis outlet was created to help aid this particular group of women. Financial assistance will be provided for some of life essentials such as:
-Housing (Rental & Mortgage) -Childcare -Utilities -Clothing -Transportation. Respect!
